Dev Academy Aotearoa

Dougal Stott has dedicated over 20 years to Māori education, youth development, and entrepreneurship. As former General Manager of Dev Academy Aotearoa, he championed the integration of te ao Māori into tech education, overseeing the training of more than 1,000 junior developers, including 150–200 Māori. Under his leadership, Dev Academy launched innovative, open-source programmes and national tech qualifications, collaborated with iwi on co-designed regional delivery models, and built a learning culture grounded in manaakitanga, resilience, and whānau support.

“It is important to build a conducive learning environment that balances cultural obligations with educational goals.”
