2024 has been both an extraordinary and tumultuous year, with significant Geo political shifts globally, catastrophic weather events, and a political pendulum swing here in Aotearoa that has also created it’s own ripple effects for whānau, hapū and Iwi. Thank goodness we are heading into Raumati for some rest and recuperation, and for those who are avid followers of the Maramataka - time for planning, productivity and action. We are thrilled to announce that Kaye-Maree Dunn has been awarded the Māori Entrepreneur of the Year at the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Awards hosted by The Global Entrepreneurship Network New Zealand (GEN NZ).

MEA, Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi and NZTech worked together to map the Māori technology sector. The benefit of this work is to provide a clear insight into the challenges, barriers and opportunities Māori are facing in 2023 and beyond and to understand what is needed for Māori to thrive in the technology sector.

MEA was contracted by Te Pai Roa to help with the first stage of the Wai 262 Kanohi Ora engagement process.

MEA had partnered with Te Wānanga o Aotearoa to deliver a digital literacy programme, Kanorau Digital, to marae around Te Tai Tokerau.
