Digital Natives Academy

Founded in 2014, Digital Natives Academy (DNA) is a kaupapa Māori tech and education hub that equips rangatahi with digital skills in coding, gaming, AI, cybersecurity, and more. CEO Nikolasa Biasiny-Tule, also founder of TangataWhenua.com, has dedicated her career to supporting Indigenous voices and creating culturally responsive learning environments. DNA blends mātauranga Māori with technology, offering a safe and inclusive space for young people to thrive while building pathways to sustainable careers.

"You go in thinking it’s about skills... then you realise it’s about feeding them, ensuring they’re cared for, and creating a safe space where they can thrive... They can’t learn if they’re unwell, so our foundation level programmes are about wellness and hauora, while the other half is about academics."

What Sets Them Apart

DNA integrates hauora and holistic care into all learning environments, recognising that wellness is fundamental to educational success. The Academy leverages gaming as a culturally relevant entry point into tech and offers customised, NZQA-accredited programmes through a Māori-led Private Training Establishment (PTE). With a biosphere-inspired vision for sustainability and community growth, DNA embodies a unique model that nurtures both personal and professional development.
