Academy of Women Entrepreneurs Wānanga

AWE is designed for women with an entrepreneurial spirit to provide them with the skills, resources, and networks needed to start and scale successful businesses using the "DreamBuilder" programme.
One of MEA’s important kaupapa has been a partnership we have forged with the US Embassy, Jamie Lee Raumati from Stay Connected and Shirleyanne Brown from WotMatters Limited to deliver our first Academy of Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) programme with a diverse range of women with magnificent ideas, products and services destined to make the world better. Our first wānanga took place at Te Tii Marae in Waitangi.

Many thanks to all those who supported this kaupapa, including the Ministry of Women's Affairs, Koru Services, E Tū Whānau, BDO and local entrepreneurs Heeni Hoterene and Billie Jo Ropiha as our Taniwha Pitch Event judges, our ringa wera/cooks - HQ Connect Catering - Ingi Haywood and our hosts Ngāti Rahiri - Te Tiriti o Waitangi Marae.

As part of the next steps, these wāhine have now moved into our weekly Dream Builder Programme where they are undertaking a ten-week intensive learning journey to further grow and develop their enterprises.
